Japanese born Berlin based Techno DJ HITO launches her curated event series at IPSE Berlin starting August 31. Named OTO, Japanese for ‘Sound’.

HITO sees music as a way to unite through creating and sharing Techno in a pure and organic way, and performing as a way to manipulate energy and bring the crowd and DJs together. She promises an atmosphere that only occurs when friends and family gather together to share their creativity under one roof.

HITO moved to Berlin from Himeji, a traditional city of Japan known for its symbolic Himeji Castle. In Berlin she felt welcomed and inspired to develop her music alongside the characters and friends she spent time with while enjoying being a local Berlin DJ. Now 18 years later she feels ready to present her own offering to the town she calls home.

HITO will invite a mix of upcoming and established DJ friends and associates from Japan, Germany and the rest of the world, merging cultures between musically associated people. Each line up is designed to demonstrate the talent she recognises on her travels as well as big name surprise guests as a an occasional surprise for her audience.

All artists will play on the PLAYdifferently MODEL 1 mixer by Richie Hawtin and Andy Rigby-Jones, of which HITO is an ambassador. She loves to introduce the instrument to new artists and enjoys sharing the unbeatable sound quality with her peers and the crowd.

On Saturday July 29 2017 Tomorrowland invited Richie Hawtin and a selection of PLAYdifferently Ambassadors to host a stage, nestled in a scenic and secret spot between the trees with music by Fabio Florido, Hito, Matador, Chris Liebing, Paco Osuna, Loco Dice, Tale Of Us and Richie Hawtin.

Sonus Festival, the new venture from the creators of Timewarp, invite PLAYdifferently to host a stage at this year’s event. 

On Monday August 21 the PLAYdifferently stage presents music by Richie Hawtin and Fabio Florido. On Tuesday August 22 the official after party at Club Kalypso presents music by Richie Hawtin and Hito.

Luciano, the Cadenza Records label boss and renowned pioneer of underground electronic music,  is the latest ambassador of PLAYdifferently’s MODEL 1 mixer.

Born in Switzerland, raised in Chile, Luciano made his way to Europe and Ibiza where he was instrumental in developing the underground scene with residencies at Cocoon and DC-10 before branching out on his own to launch Vagabundos and Luciano & Friends residencies. He founded Cadenza Records in 2003 and has received numerous accolades after over 100 releases. Continuously experimenting and evolving his set-up and combining both analogue and digital performance equipment, Luciano is proud to demonstrate the unique sound quality of MODEL 1 at all future gigs.

On Wednesday June 21 Hard Wax and PLAYdifferently invite you to a special in-store demonstration of MODEL 1, the DJ mixer created by Richie Hawtin and Andy Rigby-Jones, followed by a vinyl set from Hito.

PLAYdifferently presents three MODEL 1 demo stations allowing Sonar+D visitors to demo Richie Hawtin & Andy Rigby Jone’s flagship Dj mixer. Bring your own USB sticks and records to test the mixer with your own music.

Bijan Marashi attended our open decks event at Club Space Miami in March. He played for 45 minutes through the club’s sound system under the direction of our PLAYdifferently representative and subsequently ordered his own MODEL 1 upon returning home to San Francisco. 

“I got my MODEL 1 a couple days ago, it’s dope! I can’t believe how much better it sounds than my Pioneer. I had to order new cables so I could run more outs to it and my studio but already I’ve routed Ableton channels into it to filter and mix and was shocked at how good it sounds. I have two avalon 747s and this thing can hang in that realm.

I’m using the MODEL 1 as a small footprint mixer for some of my studio hardware as well as my DJ mixer.  The Model 1 brings the mix together beautifully and makes it easy to perform a mix.” – Bijan Marashi

Paco Osuna Presents MODEL 1 at Cutoff PRO Audio, Barcelona May 10

On Wednesday May 10th, Cutoff Pro Audio and PLAYdifferently invite you to a special in-store demonstration of MODEL 1 – the new DJ mixer created by Richie Hawtin and Andy Rigby-Jones.

Paco Osuna, an official PLAYdifferently ambassador, will demonstrate MODEL 1’s functions and capabilities through a short talk and DJ set, showing how he has incorporated the mixer in to his own performance.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience MODEL 1 hands-on with their own music. Please bring your CDs, USB or vinyl.
Entry will be free but extremely limited ONLY to those who register online.
There will be no walk-up admission granted.
